At Pilar Agueci we craft timeless jewelry with elegance and purpose. Our commitment to sustainable practices through ethical sourcing and meticulous craftsmanship ensures that each piece is a symbol of enduring beauty and integrity.

Craftsmanship and Quality

Each piece is meticulously handcrafted with attention to detail, reflecting our dedication to artistry and precision. We uphold high standards in both design and fabrication to ensure our jewelry is made to last.

When you visit our boutique, you can see our atelier firsthand and witness the care and skill that goes into each creation. We craft pieces on a smaller scale with intention, ensuring every item is unique and thoughtfully designed.

We also offer a complimentary cleaning once a year on all Pilar Agueci pieces. Not only does this keep your piece pristine but also allows us to inspect and maintain the piece's condition, reducing the need for repairs or replacements and extending its lifespan.

This dedication to quality means that each piece is made to be cherished and last a lifetime.

Circularity

Transform. Reuse. Repurpose.

Inspired by the natural world, our design practice prioritizes transforming existing jewelry into something new and ethically sourced materials when recycling isn’t possible.

Trained in traditional goldsmithing, our sustainability practices are informed and inspired by established approaches to metal reuse. Our production practice includes collecting and recycling scrap metals such as sterling silver and gold for reuse in new projects.

We also collect and recycle the metal dust created in our atelier (yes, you can recycle dust!) and collaborate with retiring jewelers to acquire gemstones, metals and tools.

We prefer to use recycled materials whenever possible and transform existing jewelry into entirely different pieces with our custom Old to New projects—because the most sustainable material is the one that already exists.

Exciting news: our team is currently developing a new jewelry recycling program and can’t wait to share it with you!

Transparency

Our Gemstones

When existing stones aren't an option, we use ethically sourced gemstones whenever possible. All of our diamonds follow the rules of the Kimberly Process, which is committed to removing conflict diamonds from the supply chain.

Ethical approaches to jewelry making include knowing who you work with. We’ve carefully selected our suppliers and work with people who prioritize transparency in sourcing. Our suppliers include Pierre de Charme, American River Pearls, Misfit Diamonds, Columbia Gem House, Coast-to-Coast Rare Stones, and Ivey Gemstones.

We’re also privileged to work with gemstone suppliers such as Damien D’Amadeo and Ashkan Asgari, who work directly with miners and small-scale operations like Moyo to source truly incredible stones.

When the supply chain is transparent, it helps to prevent environmental damage, it supports fair labor practices, and it reduces the risk of funding conflicts or exploitation.

While we make every effort to verify and trace the journey of each gem, we acknowledge that the gemstone industry still has room for improvement. Our commitment is to continually push for better standards and to provide you with jewelry that reflects our dedication to integrity and quality.

Lab-grown diamonds that meet certification standards for sustainability-rated diamonds are the latest addition to our gemstone catalogue. And we're excited by the opportunities this sustainable and ethical innovation presents.

Women Empowerment

We are dedicated to empowering women within the jewelry industry. We actively seek to collaborate with female subcontractors and women-owned businesses whenever possible. By supporting and uplifting women in our field, we contribute to a stronger, more inclusive community.

Women empowerment drives sustainability by enabling women to contribute effectively to solving environmental and social challenges, leading to more equitable and resilient communities.

Our Initiatives and Memberships

In addition to our sustainability practices, we are grateful to support initiatives that are important to us.

Since 2024, we have proudly been a member of 1% for the Planet, committing to donate one percent of our annual profits to organizations that reflect our key values. We look forward to sharing the details of the organizations we will be supporting at the end of the current year.

We are also a proud member of the Canadian Jewelers Association and the Ethical Metalsmith, an international organization dedicated to inspiring responsible jewelry practices through education, connection and action.
